Owns BYB’s product vision – guided by our customers and employees.

Rhys came from accounting, where he watched people burn money on inspection reports for homes they’d never win. So in 2015 he co-founded Before You Buy to kill that waste. Every year he tallies how much the platform has saved buyers and sellers – and how many people it’s helped land their dream home. He still gets a buzz from that number.

Owns BYB’s operations and finance functions.

Jordan runs operations and finance. He co-founded BYB with Rhys in 2015 and went all-in full-time in 2020 – bringing hard-won rigour from Commonwealth Bank and UBS, where he led the #1-ranked Emerging Companies research team in 2018–19. He keeps the engine running and the numbers honest.

Leads the product team – keeping the portfolio, strategy and priorities aligned with BYB’s vision.

Cecilia leads product, keeping the roadmap, strategy and priorities locked to BYB’s vision. Four years in sales and marketing, four in product – so she gets both why customers come to BYB and what they need once they arrive. She also lived the problem: two years and $3,000+ on inspection reports before she found her first home. Today she turns customer feedback into sharp product calls and is driving BYB’s shift to AI-first – in how the team works and what the product does.

Makes sure customers have easy access to the property reports and support they need.

Before BYB, Sonia worked in Online Support at David Jones – she was drawn to BYB’s startup culture, innovative approach and the potential she saw in the business and the wider property industry. Day to day she supports agents, inspectors and partners, helping them access reports, resolve issues and navigate the platform so customers can get the information they need quickly and easily.

Leads engineering – the execution, delivery and scaling of BYB’s technology, and the team behind it.

Mitch had always dreamed of working in a startup, and BYB was the perfect fit – drawn in by founders he describes as down-to-earth and all-round legends to work with. As BYB scales fast in the era of AI, he organises the growing product roadmap and acts as the bridge between engineering and the business, coordinating the projects and engineers that keep the technology delivering at its best.

Anika runs marketing end to end – thinking strategically, but not afraid to get her hands dirty. Social, email, web, search, ads, events and partnerships – drawing on agency and client-side stints across fitness, beauty, entertainment, food, finance and startups.
